Dairy Farmers of New Brunswick Bring a New Twist to Wild Blueberry Flavour Fest
This August, Dairy Farmers of New Brunswick (DFNB) are joining the table at one of the province’s most celebrated food events: Wild Blueberry Flavour Fest.
“This partnership with Blueberry NB is a natural fit because it celebrates local businesses, community values, and locally produced food,” said Becky Perry, dairy farmer, Chair of the Promotions Committee, and 2nd Vice President of the Board of Directors for Dairy Farmers of New Brunswick. “Blueberry Flavour Fest Restaurant Week highlights two iconic tastes from our region. It features a delicious pairing of locally produced dairy and locally grown blueberries.”
Representing 160 dairy farms across New Brunswick, DFNB farmers are committed to producing high-quality dairy close to home and supporting initiatives that connect people with local food. This year, they’re inspiring chefs to create dishes and drinks that showcase just how perfectly dairy and wild blueberries complement each other.
More Than 200 Restaurants, One Delicious Week
From August 18 to 25, Wild Blueberry Flavour Fest will see over 200 restaurants, cafés, bakeries, coffee shops, and B&Bs across the province featuring special menu items from blueberry-topped cheesecakes and creamy milkshakes to savoury dishes with dairy-based sauces.
“They’ve seen the work we’ve been doing and wanted to be part of it,” says Don Arseneault, Executive Director of Bleuets NB Blueberries. “It’s inspiring chefs to dream up even more creative offerings.”
Enter the Berry & Dairy Contest
Flavour Fest is also your chance to win. Festival-goers can scan a QR code at participating locations for a chance to win one of several NB Boxes, curated collections of locally made treasures such as handcrafted mugs, chocolate-covered wild blueberries, blueberry tea, tea towels, and more.
And with DFNB’s involvement, there’s a special twist: an extra prize will go to one lucky restaurant-goer who posts their favourite berry-and-dairy combo on social media, tagging Dairy Farmers of New Brunswick and Bleuets NB Blueberries and using #BerriesAndDairy.
